5 things you didn’t know about Rihanna....birthday celebration

by Unknown  |  at  13:28

Rihanna turns 26 today, so celebrate with little-known facts about the singer, from her army past and exorcism experience to how much her legs are insured for and what Jay Z introduced her to.
1. Rihanna witnessed an exorcism
In fact, the singer witnessed a couple of exorcisms when she was growing up in Barbados. Once was at church, and the other time was at a friend's house when she was young.
She told JoJo Wright they were praying around a table when one of the girls stood up and started screaming "in the weirdest voice". RiRi and her pals were locked in a bedroom, as "they didn't want kids to see that". She laughed as she said it was funny now, but at the time was "sh***ing" herself.
2. Rihanna was in the Army Cadets
RiRi had quite the experiences as a child in Barbados, also being a member of the Army Cadets.
Singer Shontelle, who also hails from the Caribbean island, was Rihanna's drill sergeant. She told BBC that they used to wear combat boots and fatigues and go crawling through mud.
As a drill sergeant, Shontelle admitted she would boss cadets like Rihanna around, making them do push-ups when they were late to the parade square.
3. Rihanna is scared of ghosts
So much so, she refuses to step foot in famous Hollywood haunt (pardon the pun) Chateau Marmont.
RiRi told Rolling Stone she thinks the Los Angeles hotel is haunted, saying: "You can feel it, man. It's borrowed space." As she's afraid of ghosts, she doesn't like to spend time there.
4. Jay Z expanded Rihanna's palate
Rihanna admits she's "very stubborn" when it comes to what she'll eat. She confessed to Esquire that she doesn't like to try new things, and wasn't keen to delve into different cuisines when she came to America. However, Jay Z, who signed her to Def Jam Recordings, changed that.
She revealed that it was Jay who made her eat calamari, and they "have this thing called Taste Test Tuesdays or New Flavor Fridays or Substitute Saturdays". Amazing. Where do I sign up?
5. Rihanna's legs are insured for $1million
The singer's body parts attract a lot of attention, and she takes that seriously. In particular, her legs.
When Rihanna was given Gilette's Venus Breeze Celebrity Legs of a Goddess Award in 2007, she promptly insured then for a cool one million bucks. Wow. Zers.
