Kate Gosselin Slams Jon Gosselin's "Untrue," "Hurtful" Claims About Kids' Developmental Problems

Jon and Kate's eight kids are just fine, thank you very much. Shortly after Jon Gosselin told Oprah Winfrey on the Nov. 3 episode of OWN's Where Are They Now that his children have had problems "developmentally" because of the family's TLC reality show, his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, took to her blog to offer a counter-argument.

"I find it very heartbreaking that my children's father chooses a public forum to discuss his current opinions of the 'development' of our children," she wrote on Nov. 4, noting that those opinions are "value judgments" based on "limited" visits with the former couple's eight young kids. (She and Jon share twins Cara and Mady, 13, and 9-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel.)

Kate acknowledged that she risked "stirring up an unwanted public and private 'frenzy' by commenting" on her ex's statements, but said she felt compelled to defend her kids against his claims. (Jon told Winfrey the kids "have problems with their peers, and they have problems with talking to other people, and they have problems with wants and needs and manners and morals and what's right and what's wrong.")
PHOTOS: Kate's life after reality TV
"Because he has spoken negatively about our children, I feel I owe it to them to respond on their behalf," Kate explained. "Each and every one of our children has met and continues to exceed all physical, mental, and emotional developmental milestones throughout their lives. Their normal development is regularly monitored by myself, their pediatrician, and school staff, as is usual within any family."
PHOTOS: Reality TV curse
She went on to note that it is "very normal in a family, especially a large family, to have a full range of personalities, abilities, talents, hobbies, and struggles." Her kids are no different. "However, anyone who has personally met our children all have the same thing to say: They are the most normal, pleasant, polite, loving and well adjusted children they have ever met," she wrote. "Most even go on to say that they are a 'a delight' to be around."

Kate further slammed Jon's statements as "untrue and hurtful" to the kids. She concluded, "If our children ever stumble upon that interview, I want to be able to point them to this statement so that they know that I publicly set the record 100% straight on this one, for their sake.

Rihanna went to great lengths for her newest ink. The "Pour It Up" singer, 25, flew tattoo artists Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy and Cally Jo from New York City to the Dominican Republic to cover up the Maori tattoo she got recently in New Zealand, a source confirms to Us Weekly. (E! News was first to report the unusual travel arrangements.)

The new tat -- a henna-inspired design on the Barbados-born star's right hand -- "goes over the knuckles and wrist," Bang Bang tells Us. "It was made to complement what was already there. It looks like a henna tattoo, but it's the real deal. She's a champ."

Indeed she is. As seen in a video of Rihanna posted to YouTube earlier this month, the "Diamonds" singer first got her hand tattooed with a chisel and mallet in New Zealand. The painful method, known as Ta moko, is traditional to the Maori culture. Rihanna remained silent throughout the process, but her hand was left bloodied and bruised after.

The ink-loving star has several other tattoos, as well. Among them? A trail of stars down the back of her neck, a handgun near her armpit, a falcon on her right foot, the Egyptian goddess Isis on her chest, and her best friend's birthday on her shoulder.
"I like hanging out in tattoo shops," Rihanna told Atlanta Peach magazine back in 2007. "Sometimes I get dressed and go to the tattoo parlors in SoHo and hang out. I am so intrigued by tattoos. It's an entire culture, and I study it."

Though her drastic new hairstyle garnered mixed reviews when she first stepped out in early October, Jada Pinkett Smith is owning her new 'do. The 42-year-old mother of Willow and Jaden Smith is sporting long locks with both sides of her head shaved.

The actress attended the Make Equality Reality event honoring director Joss Whedon on Nov. 4 where she paired her buzzed tresses with a detailed cutout two-piece. Smith looked radiant while sporting the more youthful look, posing with Whedon, 49, and activist Gloria Steinem.

Many have said Smith's new look is reminiscent of her 13-year-old daughter Willow's hair from back in 2012. At the time, the cut was slightly controversial and prompted Jada to take to Facebook in an open letter defending her daughter.
"Willow cut her hair because her beauty, her value, her worth is not measured by the length of her hair," Smith wrote in November 2012. "Even little girls should not be a slave to the preconceived ideas of what a culture believes a little girl should be."

Since debuting her look in October, Smith has kept the buzzed sides while adding a long ponytail.
