Let there be light! X Factor's Tamera Foster and Jahméne Douglas team up to turn on Bluewater Shopping Centre's Christmas lights

by Unknown  |  at  04:46

She is the rising star of this year's The X Factor, and he was the hit reality TV show's runner-up last year.
So what better way to entertain the crowds who gathered for Bluewater Shopping Centre's Christmas light switch on, than for Tamera Foster and Jaheme Douglas to give a couple of show-stopping performances on stage.
The pair looked delighted to be asked to sing before turning on the lights alongside presenter Toby Anstis and, of course, Santa Claus at the Kent venue on Friday.
Let there be light: Jahmene Douglas and Tamera Foster pushed the red button turn on the Bluewater Christmas lights, in Kent, on Friday
Looking trendy in an oversized tartan shirt, black vest top, worn skinny denim jeans and red velvet court shoes, 16-year-old Tamera made a heart shape with her hands before her much anticipated performance on stage.

She accessorised the look with a collection of rather chunky gold junk jewellery pieces, including a necklace, an oversized ring, a matching bracelet, a collection of gold rings and a circular pendant anklet, whilst wearing dramatic plum lipstick, smokey eyes, and keeping her newly-dyed blonde locks loose and in subtle waves for the occasion.
On Twitter the star indicated that she was clearly in a rush to reach the venue at Greenhithe, Kent, as she told her followers: 'What a rush! Oh on my way to blue water now!x'

Sources had said that she arrived around an hour late to the event, however it appeared like the fans didn't seem to mind, and neither did Tamera, who later tweeted: 'Had an amazing night thank you @TweetBluewater Now for a lovely meal @ @jamieolivers kitchen!'
Tamera, who was put into the bottom two with Kingsland Road on last week's show, but was saved by the judges is still one of the favourites to win the show, and has even attracted a celebrity fan in none other than Rihanna.

According to the Daily Star, Rihanna said: 'I got sent a link of her after she sang one of my songs at Boot Camp and I have been watching her ever since.

Stars of the show: Tamera is a popular yet controversial contestant on this year's X Factor, whilst Jahmene was an incredibly liked runner-up from last year
'The shows need to produce a superstar every two or three seasons to give them credibility, and she is already there in week five or whatever it is.'
Meanwhile Jahmene, 22, was tweeting far more regularly than Tamera about his performance at the shopping centre, starting off the tirade with: 'On my to the stage to perform at the Christmas lights switch on down here at @tweetbluewater :-) woop woo excited !! #christmasishere'
After his performance he decided to thank his fans and Tamera for the poignant occasion and wrote:
'Thanks to all the amazing people who came to the Xmas lights at @tweetbluewater was great to finally meet @OfficialTamera :-) #beauitful x'

Jahmene, who also turned on Regent Street Christmas lights and Swindons's lights, looked great in a a metallic suit jacket, black trousers, black patent brogues and a black polo jumper.
He accessorised with a large silver crucifix necklace and a snowflake-print red and white Christmas scarf, whilst even growing his hair out into ringlets since his shaven head look on The X Factor last year.
The ever-loveable singer even wrote a special shout-out to his backing choir on the evening, writing: 'Big thanks to the London community gospel choir for singing "next it me" with me <3 love to you all always @LCGCtweets incredible set! X'
