She became the envy of millions of women worldwide when it was revealed she is dating Johnny Depp.
But Amber Heard has revealed that even being in a relationship with one of the sexiest men on the planet isn't enough to dismiss the usual romance dramas.
Posing for a boho style shoot in Company magazine, Amber also admitted, however, that dating someone in the same industry can be beneficial - because they understand the nature of her work.
Opening up: Amber Heard has spoken about the difficulties of the dating world when you are a famous actress
Amber made a name for herself in movies such as Zombieland and The Rum Diary, where she first met Depp, but said it is becoming increasingly difficult in Hollywood to find decent roles as a woman.
She said: You name me movies where the woman’s part isn’t narrower than the man’s and they will be the exceptions – not the norm. I think in Europe things are better, but, in the US, we still have characters who are defined by physical attractiveness.
Struggling for roles: Amber also spoke about how increasingly difficult it is to find decent movie roles for women
Real life romance: Amber is in a relationship with Johnny Depp
'I try to search for roles where the character is not dependent on how she looks, but it is hard because I didn’t know anyone in this industry so I started as an extra and fought. I’ve had to take on roles that were superficial, girlfriend roles, but I’ve tried to put some power or strength into them. And I don’t think talent and beauty are mutually exclusive.

'It’s a shame that someone like Charlize Theron has to put on a bunch of weight and fake teeth to be seen as a talented actress.'
Someone Amber looks up to is Angelina Jolie - not only as an actress but also as a role model when it comes to the way she lives her life.
Amber explained: 'I wish I could hold my tongue more, but I’m just not very good at it… Angelina Jolie is an incredible example – just an incredible force in terms of challenging the status quo.
'I think she talked about being bisexual honestly, which I love her for. Honesty is best – staying quiet can be so detrimental.'
Amber also spoke about what she likes to do in her spare time - which perhaps are not the traditional hobbies for a young Hollywood actress.
She said: 'My favourite thing is to do crossword puzzles. I do the New York Times one every morning. Then I go to the barn to see my horse.
